Common Core/NGSS/Testing

Hello, Bulldogs!

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or (CAASPP), is the test given to students in grades 3-8 and 11 in the subjects of language arts and mathematics. The CAASPP includes a computer-adaptive test and is meant to assess student attainment of California’s Common Core Standards.

Last year students in 5th and 8th grade piloted the California Science Test (CAST), which is an online assessment based on the California Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This year the test will be fully operational for all 5th and 8th grade students. Along with student results in language arts and mathematics, parents should expect to receive results for their student’s achievement on the CAST test during the summer of 2019.

Exact testing dates for the 2018-19 school year have not yet been set but should be sometime during the months of April and May 2019. Once those dates have been determined, we will be sure to post the testing schedule to this page. To help our students do their best, we urge our parents to make sure their child is at school during testing and that they come to school well rested.

Below are links to resources and information pertaining to CAASP and CAST testing as well as California’s NGSS. I urge you to take a look! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
