When: February 5, 2020 (Wednesday)
This year’s Oak View STEAM Fair (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) aligns with the San Joaquin County STEAM Fair in terms of requirements, policies, and procedures. This year the types of projects students can do have expanded. Students can do a more traditional science fair project based on all the steps of the scientific method, an engineering project that requires them to define a problem and develop an optimal solution for it, or a project based on mathematics/ computer science. In addition, students can now do an exhibition project that includes categories such as creating a Rube Goldberg machine, creating a science-fiction story, reverse engineering a product or inventing, and projects involving robotics and coding
Top winners of this year’s Oak View STEAM Fair may be eligible to participate in the San Joaquin County STEAM Fair, which will be held on February 22, 2020.
The format and requirements of the STEAM fair projects are different than in past years. Please check out the Science and Engineering Fair Handbook and County Science and Engineering Fair website below to find out more information.
